The S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University hosted the final round of the Olympiad in mathematics and physics among high school students of the country. The event was organized by the university in honor of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the year 2025, declared the International Year of Peace and Trust.
The Olympiad was conducted in three rounds in the form of an individual competition among 11th and 12th grade students. The first and second rounds of the Olympiad took place in early April at schools in Ashgabat, Arkadag, and in the velayats of the country.
Based on the results of the second round, the best experts in physics and mathematics were invited to the S.A. Niyazov Turkmen Agricultural University to participate in the final round of the Olympiad. In the final round, participants were given 7 tasks in each subject and 180 minutes to solve them. Winners were determined by the total number of points scored.
First places in the mathematics Olympiad were won by Eldar Kadyrov, an 11th-grade student of the Ashgabat Specialized Boarding School named after Saparmyrat Turkmenbashi; Muhammet Ali Maksadov, a 12th-grade student of Specialized Secondary School No. 97 with advanced study of English; and Merdan Nurmamedov, a 12th-grade student of Secondary School No. 75 in Akdepe etrap of Dashoguz velayat.
Second prize places in this Olympiad were awarded to 8 senior students, and third places were taken by 12 students from schools across the country.
In the physics Olympiad, the winners were Aidogdy Aidogdyev, an 11th-grade student of Secondary School No. 147 in Ashgabat; Dovletmyrat Nuryagdyev, an 11th-grade student of Secondary School No. 43 in Sakarchage etrap of Mary velayat; and Kerem Babageldiyev, a 12th-grade student of Specialized School No. 45 with advanced study of English and exact sciences in Ak Bugday etrap of Ahal velayat.
Second places in the physics Olympiad were won by 7 students, and third places were taken by 10 students.
During the solemn award ceremony, winners and prize-winners of the intellectual competition were presented with diplomas of the corresponding degrees and commemorative gifts.
