Students from Turkmenistan won 16 medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad in St. Petersburg

Students from Turkmenistan successfully performed at the XI International Nordic Universities Mathematical Olympiad (NCUMC-2025), organised from 20th to 22nd of April by the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics (ITMO University).

In the individual standings of the Olympiad, our students won 16 medals - 7 gold and 9 silver.

Three gold medals were awarded to Shabibi Nurjanova, Hajymuhammet Atayev and Orazguly Gylyjov, students of the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly. In addition, the university students received first place in the team standings of the Olympiad.

Four gold medals were won by Selbi Ruslanova, a student of the International University of Humanities and Development, Gulovser Gylychmammedova, a student of the Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan named after Oguzhan, Muhammet Annayev and Mergen Meredov, students of the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan.

Silver medals were awarded to Rahmet Penjiyev, Kerim Toylyyev (International University for the Humanities and Development), Dovletgeldi Shakirjanov (Engineering and Technology University of Turkmenistan named after Oguzhan), Islam Hayytmuhammedov (International Oil and Gas University named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev), Begench Saparov (Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management), Gurtgeldi Hanov, Myrat Janmyradov (Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi), Batyr Ovezmyradov (Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction) and Bayram Turayev (State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan).

In the team competitions of the Olympiad, students from the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan took second place, and students from the International University for Humanities and Development took third place.

This year, more than 350 students from higher education institutions in Russia, Turkmenistan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Senegal and Vietnam took part in the prestigious mathematical competition.
