Today, the Olympiad «Talented Young Chemists» was completed at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev. It was organised by the university among students of grades 11-12 of secondary schools in our country.
The Chemistry Olympiad was held in two stages in the form of an individual competition. More than 460 schoolchildren from Ashgabat, Arkadag and all five regions of the country took part in the first stage, which was held online. The tasks for young chemists were specially developed and prepared by the organising committee created at the university based on the curriculum of secondary schools.
Based on the results of the first round, 126 talented schoolchildren won the right to participate in the second round of the competition, which took place at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev.
The university hospitably welcomed the finalists of the Olympiad, who came here from all over Turkmenistan. A rich program was prepared for the schoolchildren. During the tour of the university, the students were thoroughly acquainted with the academic buildings and faculties of the university, scientific centres and research laboratories, museums and the sports complex of the capital's university.
The students who showed the best results in the Olympiad were invited to continue their education at the university after graduating from school. At the end of the event, on behalf of the rector of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev, the winners of the final round were awarded diplomas of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd degrees and memorable gifts.
