Turkmen citizens are invited to participate in the Japanese Government Scholarship Program for Foreign Students

The Embassy of Japan in Turkmenistan reports on the beginning of accepting applications for the scholarship program of the Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan: MEXT) for foreign students. The scholarships are intended for study in the programs of "Student Researcher" (graduate level), "Undergraduate Student" (undergraduate level), "Technological College Student" and "Specialized Educational College Student" (specialized education college level).

Applications for training on the program “Student Researcher” program can be submitted by persons born on April 2, 1991 or later, who graduated from a higher educational institution (including graduates of the current school year). Persons enrolled in this program, after the completion of six -month preparatory training in the Japanese language in Japan (only for those who need to teach the Japanese language) will receive a specialized education in graduate school.

Applications for the “Undergraduate Student” program are open to individuals born on or after April 2, 2001, who have completed 12 years of school education or a school program equivalent to junior high school (including current school graduates). Individuals admitted to this program will receive one year of preparatory Japanese language training in Japan (conducted at the Center for Japanese Language Education for International Students at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and Osaka University of Foreign Studies) before entering university, and will be admitted to a bachelor's degree program after completing the program.

Applications for training under the program “Technological College Student” may submit, persons born on April 2, 2001 or later, who received an 11-year school education (including graduates of the current school year). Persons enrolled in this program, after the completion of the 1st year of preparatory training in the Japanese language in Japan, will go to the third course of the technological college and receive a 3-year special education. All classes will be held in Japanese.

Applications for the “Specialized Educational College Student” program are open to individuals born on or after April 2, 2001, who have completed 12 years of school education (including current school year graduates). Individuals who are admitted to this program after completing 1 year of preparatory Japanese language education in Japan will enroll in a specialized course at a specialized college and receive 2 years of specialized education. All classes will be conducted in Japanese.

The scholarship programs are aimed at training highly qualified personnel, which, through the implementation of training and research in Japanese universities, will become a link between Japan and their country and will contribute to the development of two countries and the whole world.

Acceptance of applications will last until May 30, 2025.
