On May 21, a hybrid meeting was held at the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The international scientific and practical conference "Ashgabat – the pearl of national architecture, the cradle of science and knowledge", dedicated to the upcoming celebration of the Day of the city of Ashgabat.
The event was attended by professors, lecturers, postgraduates, doctoral students, undergraduates of higher educational institutions, specialists of scientific institutions and organizations of Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Belarus, Italy, Pakistan and the USA.
The main purpose of the conference is to strengthen international friendly relations and mutually beneficial exchange of scientific information and experience between representatives of specialized universities, scientists and specialists of scientific institutions of our country and abroad.
Before the start of the conference, the participants got acquainted with the exhibition of works of decorative and applied arts and scientific projects, prepared on the basis of the results of the research activities of professors, teachers and students of the architectural and Civil Engineering Institute. The project of a new building complex was also presented among the scientific papers.
The Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering, which is scheduled to open in September 2026. The forum participants were informed about the ongoing research work at the university aimed at solving urgent production problems in the field of ecology and rational use of natural resources, energy, chemical technologies, construction, architecture, seismics and information technology. It was emphasized that in October 2024 the Scientific and Technical Center for Information Technology was established at the Institute, designed to coordinate the interaction of science, education and production.
Foreign participants who spoke at the plenary session of the forum spoke about the traditions and peculiarities of the architectural art of their peoples, innovations and technological developments in modern urban planning, which are actively being implemented in the countries of the world.
Discussions on the development of a comfortable urban environment and design, improving the efficiency of architectural and construction education and training of high-level specialists.
Further, the conference continued in sections, one of which on the theme "The role of national patterns in modern architectural art" was held at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan. An exhibition of design works performed by students and teachers of the creative university was organized for the guests in the academy's exhibition hall.
In general, on the sidelines of the conference, participants had the opportunity to jointly and effectively discuss priority tasks, aimed at achieving the integration of science and production, organizing academic and student exchanges, introducing innovations into the science and education system, attracting young people to science, forming an erudite, broad-minded, advanced generation and training personnel capable of solving topical scientific and practical issues arising in production and scientific research.
