The Turkmen delegation visited Khanty-Mansiysk to participate in the international conference on the impact of ICT on the modern world

On June 25-27, the Russian city of Khanty-Mansiysk hosted the VII International Conference "Information and Communication in the Digital Age: Explicit and Implicit Impacts", held within the framework of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Program "Information for All" and the XVI International IT Forum.

The event was organized by the Government of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug – Yugra, the Russian Committee UNESCO's Information for All programmes and Interregional Library Cooperation Center with the support of the Russian Federation Commission for UNESCO and the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to UNESCO.

About 120 experts from more than 40 countries took part in the large-scale forum. Among them are political figures, representatives of government bodies, organizations in the fields of culture, science and education, communication and information, specialists in the field of information technology, sociology, cultural studies, political science, writers, journalists, as well as representatives of civil society and business institutions.

Turkmenistan was represented on the sidelines of the event by a lecturer at the Department of Management and Innovative Technologies of the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan Esen Khojakuliev, as well as representatives of public organizations Turkmenistan's Begmukhammet Meredov and Kadyr Amandurdiyev.

The Ugra-Classic Concert and Theater Center became the venue for the grand opening and holding of the VII International Conference "Information and Communication in the Digital Age: Explicit and Implicit Impacts", the XVI International IT Forum with the participation of the BRICS and SCO countries and a large-scale thematic exhibition.

Discussions continued within the framework of the largest interdisciplinary conference, which were held with great success during a series of international conferences of the same name in Khanty-Mansiysk in 2018-2024.

The main part of the experts' presentations was devoted to the analysis the impact of information technology on the modern world. They talked about the socio-cultural transformations taking place at the global, regional and local levels due to the penetration of information technology into all spheres of human activity. The presentations highlighted key trends in the development of advanced AI technologies and systems, as well as the prospects and specifics of their use in various fields and sectors.

The speakers' reports addressed topical issues of regulatory regulation of the development and implementation of information technologies and AI systems, as well as ethical aspects of their application, ensuring information and psychological security in the digital world, the impact of changes in the field of information and communications on the functioning of states and societies.

In general, the conference included two plenary sessions on the topics "Information and communication: challenges digital world" and "Linguistic and cultural diversity in the era of information technology". During the forum, two strategic sessions were held on the topics "Ethical aspects of the use of information technology in the context of the Alliance's activities in the field of artificial intelligence" and "The use of AI for content creation: challenges, potential, legislative regulation", as well as a section entitled "AI in science and education".

Next, the forum delegates were united by a round table meeting dedicated to IT and AI systems in the development of multilingualism. The event ended with a thematic discussion on "Cybersecurity and cyber hygiene".

We would like to add that an interesting cultural and educational program was prepared for the participants of the conference, which included bright musical concerts, an entertaining excursion to the ethnographic open-air museum "Torum Maa" and an impressive boat trip.
