As part of the provision of new textbooks and teaching aids to students of secondary, specialized, professional and higher schools in Turkmenistan, the textbook "General Biology" for 11 grades of secondary schools with the Turkmen language of instruction has been published by the beginning of the new academic year. The publication is recommended for use by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

The new textbook, approved by the specialists of the National Institute of Education of the country, meets modern requirements the educational process corresponds to the methods used and the general style of teaching the school curriculum. The material is based on the latest scientific data in the field of environmental protection and biodiversity, and also includes references to current environmental legislation and Turkmenistan's international obligations under signed environmental conventions and agreements.

The textbook assumes a comprehensive approach to the study of biology – from the basics of cell structure and chemical composition, to genetics and breeding. The material is logically structured in three thematic parts and has illustrations that help students learn the material better.

In addition to the theoretical chapters, the publication contains a laboratory workshop: studying cells under a microscope, observing the cytoplasm, and evaluating variability factors – the foundations of evolution. The textbook was prepared by a group of authors – S.K.Durdyev, P.A.Kepbanov, S.Nogayeva and R.Makhmatkulova, who represent a number of universities in the capital, as well as the National Institute of Deserts, Flora and Fauna of the Ministry of Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan.
