Turkmenistan and Kuwait identified energy and transport as key prospects for cooperation

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Crown Prince of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah identified the fuel and energy, transport, and communications sectors as promising areas for expanding bilateral cooperation. The high-level meeting took place as part of the Turkmen leader's working visit to the United States.

During the conversation, Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasised Turkmenistan's advantageous geographic location and abundant natural resources, which create the conditions for the implementation of major projects at the international level. In this regard, the head of state expressed readiness to cooperate in the creation of East-West and North-South transport and transit corridors, as well as in the implementation of major energy projects such as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

Focusing on political issues, the President of Turkmenistan noted that, in accordance with the UN General Assembly resolution, 2025 has been declared the International Year of Peace and Trust at Turkmenistan's initiative, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the country's permanent neutrality. He invited Sheikh Sabah Al-Khalid Al-Sabah to participate in the International Forum on the 12th of December in Ashgabat.
