Turkmen dance masters participate in creative event in Kazakhstan

As part of the "Dance Turkmenistan!" project, from September 22 to October 3, three dancers from Turkmenistan – Allamyrat Saparov, Rovshen Baymyradov, and Maral Hamragulyeva – took part in an intercultural dance event held in Almaty at the "Jolda Dance Theatre."

Recall that earlier this year, the French Institute in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of our country presented an international choreographic ethnographic performance dedicated to the folk dance kushtdepdi, held at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. The project involved choreographers Jean-Marc Matos (France) and Margherita Bergamo (Italy), as well as dancers from the State Dance of Turkmenistan and the State Ensemble of Dance "Mengli."

Three of our dancers, who stood out in the performance, were delegated to the dance event in Almaty.

The purpose of the trip was experience exchange and collaborative creativity. During two weeks, the Turkmen dancers attended master classes by local specialists and also met with representatives of theatrical and dance groups, including costume designer Tamara Said, composer and sound artist Ella Baiysbayeva, and director and multidisciplinary artist Mark Kuklin.

Under the guidance of a curator, the Turkmen dancers refined their own ideas for the performance at the final presentation held on October 3 at "Jolda Dance Theatre" – a dance company of the Republic of Kazakhstan known for its bold experiments and international projects.
