On the 12th of November, the XVIII International exhibition and scientific conference «Türkmentel – 2025» and the International conference and exhibition «International transport and transit corridors: interconnection and development – 2025» opened in Ashgabat.
At the exhibition, Mekan Meredov, a representative of the department of interdepartmental electronic interaction of the State Company «Türkmentelekom» under the Ministry of communications of Turkmenistan, spoke with a «GA» correspondent about the operation of the electronic data exchange system.
«As a representative of the Ministry of communications, I can say that this year has been special for us. We have made significant progress in creating a more connected, secure, and digital government, and the most important step on this path is our new X-Road platform – a national data exchange system», – said M. Meredov.
As our interviewee explained, the system is designed to securely transfer information electronically between organisations, replacing paper media and covering various areas: medicine, education, government, and legal services.
The «Electronic government» system will allow citizens to obtain certificates and documents from various agencies through a single application. Its main goal is to facilitate access of citizens to government services digitally.
A number of ministries and agencies have already been connected to this digital system. Rapid expansion is planned in the future to make digital services accessible to citizens. This step demonstrates that Turkmenistan is ready for the next stage of digital transformation.
