The atmosphere of the holiday of New Year has already filled the streets of the cities of country. Thousands of lights, decorated shop windows, and sparkling Christmas trees create a sense of magic and joy, filling hearts with warmth in anticipation of miracles of New Year.
Ashgabat at night is especially impressive, sparkling with illuminations and dazzling residents and visitors alike with its decorations of New Year.
Traditionally, the main tree of the country is installed in the square in front of the «Älem» cultural and entertainment centre. This majestic tree, several dozen meters tall, is decorated with thousands of sparkling ornaments and garlands. Modern lighting effects created using digital technology lend it a special magic. Residents of all regions of Turkmenistan flock to the capital to admire this beauty. The main celebrations will take place here on the Eve of New Year.
Cultural events, concerts, fairs, and exhibitions held throughout the country create a festive atmosphere in the days leading up to the New Year.
The Library named after Dovletmammet Azady in Arkadag is hosting musical performances of New Year for children. Events dedicated to the New Year celebrations are aimed at instilling in the younger generation respect for national traditions and knowledge of the history of the Turkmen people.
As part of the performances, children, accompanied by the wizard of New Year Ayaz baba, take a tour of the library, learning about the history and development of the first «smart» city.
The Turkmen state puppet theatre is celebrating the New Year with vibrant interactive performances for children. Young audiences not only enjoy the performances but also participate in fun competitions and sing and dance with their favourite fairy-tale characters. The exciting events will continue until the 12th of January.
