In Turkmenistan, the results of the first semester and the key tasks for the second semester of the 2025–2026 academic year were summarized within the framework of working meetings of educators of the country held on January 8 at educational institutions.
A meeting at Specialized Educational and Training Complex No. 1 of Arkadag brought together representatives of the city khakimlik leadership, the education department, public organizations, and 165 secondary school teachers.
Opening remarks were delivered by Deputy Khakim of Arkadag city Altyn Tejenova, Head of the Arkadag City Education Department Yanvar Annayev, Chairman of the City Council of the Magtymguly Youth Organization of Turkmenistan Mekan Amanlyev, and Chairman of the City Committee of the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan Arapkhan Yerniyazov.

The speeches proudly highlighted the achievements attained within the framework of large-scale reforms in the field of education aimed at developing and continuously improving the national education system and bringing it up to the level of international standards.
The discussion focused on priority tasks and plans for the comprehensive upbringing and preparation of children enrolled in preschool institutions and secondary educational establishments. Emphasis was placed on the importance of efforts aimed at shaping a harmoniously developed younger generation, unlocking their creative and intellectual potential, and increasing children’s interest in science and education. The need for further implementation of the latest teaching methods in the educational process was underscored, with due regard to ensuring full mastery of curricula by students.
During the event, substantive reports on mentorship, enhancement of professional competencies and pedagogical skills, innovative teaching methodologies, and modern educational practices were presented by administrators, teachers, methodologists, and educators from kindergartens and secondary schools.

In an active atmosphere, a meeting of education workers was also held at Specialized Secondary Schools No. 29 and No. 131 in Ashgabat with advanced study of foreign languages.
This meeting was likewise devoted to reviewing the results of the first semester and outlining tasks for the upcoming semester of the academic year, aimed at ensuring high-quality education and upbringing of the younger generation, updating curricula and textbooks, improving the qualifications of education workers, and increasing the effectiveness of the educational process.
The presentations examined methods for applying innovative teaching technologies and digital resources in classrooms, enriching educational content through their use, as well as approaches to modernizing the activities of specialized schools and preschool institutions with in-depth study of academic disciplines. Attention was given to ensuring continuity between preschool and primary education, motivating students to learn, and studying and disseminating best practices.
Leading educators from the capital’s schools presented thematic reports that generated considerable interest among participants, after which the event continued with lively discussions.

A similar meeting also brought together educators from preschool institutions and secondary schools of Mary velayat. The event was attended by honored teachers of the region, respected elders, deputies of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, representatives of public organizations, the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, and other guests.
Within the framework of this meeting, substantive reports were delivered by heads of educational institutions, teachers, and leading specialists in the education sector. Attention was focused on prospective tasks in the context of the Concept for Improving Teaching Methodologies for General Education Programs in Turkmenistan until 2028. In this regard, they emphasized the importance of continuously improving pedagogical mastery, studying and disseminating the best foreign and national experience and practices, introducing highly effective modern teaching methods, ensuring interdisciplinary links, and developing students’ practical skills and abilities.
Traditional January meetings of education workers were held in an organized and effective manner in the etraps and cities of all velayats of the country. Their annual conduct is primarily aimed at fulfilling the most important tasks of nurturing a harmoniously developed and talented youth, developing and stimulating students’ creative abilities, improving teachers’ qualifications, enhancing the learning process through the application of advanced experience and innovative methods, and providing the younger generation with quality education in accordance with international standards.
