The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan will host a student brainstorming competition dedicated to the 2026 motto «Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses» and the Day of diplomatic workers of the country.

The intellectual competition will take place at the university on the 16th of February, with the participation of students from Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly, the International University for humanities and development, the Turkmen national institute of world languages named after Dovletmammet Azady, and the IIR of the MFA of Turkmenistan.

The brain-ring aims to identify erudite, broad-minded, and talented young people, deepen their understanding of the essence of peace initiatives of the state and the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan, promote the principles of neutrality among students, and unlock their creative and intellectual potential.

Each higher education institution will send teams of six students to compete. The «brainstorming» will include several rounds and will traditionally be conducted in a question-and-answer format. Players will be presented with interesting general questions, as well as logic questions, prepared on the topic of neutrality policy of Turkmenistan.

In the game, where it is important not only to give the correct answer but also to do so faster than the opposing teams, knowledge and abilities of participants will be assessed, and, most importantly, their activity and reaction speed.

The competition results will be summarised based on assessment and decision of the jury. The Grand Prix, I, II, and III place prizes will be distributed among teams from participating universities.

The winners will be awarded diplomas of the corresponding degrees and commemorative gifts from the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan. The competition winners will also receive the right to participate in an international conference and gala concert, which will be held on the 18th of February at the IIR of the MFA of Turkmenistan to mark Day of diplomatic workers of the country.

Additional information about the competition is available on the official website of the IIR of the MFA of Turkmenistan.

The organisers are confident that the event will promote scientific, educational, and cultural interaction among students at the universities of the country, strengthen and expand knowledge of the students in politics and diplomacy, and enhance their understanding of the role and importance of positive neutrality − the foundation of foreign policy of the state aimed at strengthening peace, cohesion, unity, global security, and international cooperation.
