In the new year of 2026, held under the motto “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Horses,” the festive events dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day have taken on special grandeur. A vivid confirmation of this was the ceremonial opening of two four-storey residential buildings, each designed for 24 families, intended for employees of the Police Department of Balkan velayat of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the velayat and city khyakimliks, personnel of military and law-enforcement agencies, members of the Halk Maslahaty, deputies of the Mejlis, representatives of public organizations, Honorary Elders, and the city’s youth.

Those who spoke at the ceremony, with a sense of sincere pride, emphasized that the socially oriented policy of the Head of Turkmenistan in the Era of the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State is reaching new heights. As was underscored, the material and technical base of the country’s security structures is being systematically strengthened, and all conditions are being created for the comfortable life of the families of servicemen. The participants of the celebration congratulated the new residents on the double occasion—Defender of the Fatherland Day and the commissioning of the new houses. The happy recipients of the apartments expressed deep gratitude to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for this wonderful gift.

During the celebration, valuable gifts were presented on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan to builders who distinguished themselves in the construction of the facilities. Amid thunderous applause, the new residents received the keys to their apartments.

The festive atmosphere was enhanced by song and musical performances by artistic groups of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Balkan velayat. The creative performances praised the large-scale achievements initiated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and successfully continued by Arkadagly Hero Serdar, as well as the motto of the year, the valor of the defenders of the Fatherland, peace, and friendship.

After the blessing ceremony conducted by the Honorary Elders, the participants toured the new apartments. The housing meets modern standards: the rooms are furnished with high-quality furniture and equipped with household appliances and all necessary amenities. Representatives of the older generation wished the families well-being, noting: “May the music of holidays and celebrations always resound in your homes!”
