The Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan announced the winners of the «AI Solutions» hackathon, which was held by the university among students of higher educational institutions of the country.

The competition took place on the 21st of February at the premises of the business entity «Sanly Çözgüt - IT meýdança», operating under the Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan. 16 student teams (one from each university) took part in the hackathon.

Contestants competed in developing IT products using artificial intelligence, specifically testing systems capable of generating questions based on user categories and evaluating results based on the answers received.

The effectiveness and performance of innovative solutions of the participants were assessed by a panel of experts, including university professors of IT disciplines and invited experts in the field.

According to the results of the hackathon, I place was won by teams from the Institute of engineering, technical and transport communications of Turkmenistan, the Institute of the MIF of Turkmenistan, and the International University of oil and gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakayev.

II place was awarded to the teams of the International University for humanities and development, the Turkmen state institute of architecture and construction, and the Turkmen state university named after Magtymguly.

III place was taken by participants from the Turkmen state institute of economics and management, the Turkmen agricultural university named after S.A. Nyyazov, the Turkmen national institute of world languages named after Dovletmammet Azady, and the State energy institute of Turkmenistan.

The winners were awarded diplomas and commemorative gifts from the Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan. 6 teams from several other universities and institutes across the country received incentive prizes.

The student hackathon was held to improve digital literacy among students, develop skills in applying artificial intelligence technologies among aspiring professionals, develop and create high-quality AI projects, and assess their commercialisation potential.

As the organisers noted, the competition helped identify the most talented young people capable of skilfully and effectively using AI technologies, finding simple and quick solutions using AI, and working well in a team.
