Recently, prominent European diplomat and representative of the Austrian institute for European diplomacy and security policy, Martin Sajdik, paid a working visit to Ashgabat.
The purpose of his trip to Turkmenistan is to prepare an agreement on mutual cooperation between the university he represents and the institute of international relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan. On the first day of his stay in Ashgabat, the guest visited the State museum of the State cultural centre of the capital, got acquainted with the masterpieces of carpet weaving in the national carpet museum, and also visited the historical and cultural center «Köne Nusaý» (Ancient Nusay) and the ahal-teke equestrian complex.And yet, the most important thing for the European expert was getting to know the faculty and students of the foreign policy university of Turkmenistan.

The meeting was announced by Gulshat Yusupova, rector of the IIR of the MFA of Turkmenistan, with a short speech about the guest and the purpose of his visit.The meeting planned in the format of the lecture version went beyond the academic hour and smoothly moved into the format of questions and answers, and it is clear.
Future diplomats wanted to learn as much as possible about real politics, the complexities and subtleties of their future profession.It should be noted that both the lecture and the question-and-answer session were held in English. Immediately after talking with the students, the experienced diplomat met with the staff of the Scientific Centre for strategic studies at the institute.

Here the guest was met by the head of the centre, Ambassador Shiri Akoyliyevich Shiriyev.As is customary among experts, the brief introduction quickly turned to an exchange of opinions on interesting, current issues of international politics.To warm things up, local experts, taking advantage of the fact that their guest was a highly experienced diplomat and expert, asked him to identify, in his opinion, the most necessary personal and professional qualities for a diplomat involved in resolving the most acute conflicts.He named objectivity, impartiality, empathy and patience as necessary. Subsequently, the employeesof the cenre S Shiriyev, B. Amansaryyev and O. Annabayev, who participated in the meeting, exchanged views with M. Sajdik on issues of interest to everyone in the region and the world. In conclusion, the parties expressed interest in further cooperation between the Austrian institute and the IIR of the MFA of Turkmenistan.
