The role of special education teachers in inclusive education was discussed at the Turkmen pedagogical institute

The State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen hosted a scientific and practical conference «The role of speech pathologists in teaching children with special needs», organised on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship named after Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The conference was held in a hybrid format with the participation of professors and teachers of higher and secondary professional educational institutions of pedagogical profile, specialists of medical and educational rehabilitation centres, teachers of speech therapy groups of preschool institutions, speech therapists, doctors and other specialists.

The conference included a plenary session and three thematic sections.

During the forum, about 50 scientific reports were presented on the theoretical and practical foundations of teaching children with special needs. The presentations discussed the possibilities of inclusive education in the modern education system, international experience, as well as new approaches aimed at the development of children with disabilities.

Following the conference, the participants presented proposals for the development of inclusive education, the introduction of modern technologies and the training of speech pathologists.

In conclusion, the effectiveness of the conference and the reports, initiatives and practical recommendations of specialists presented at it were noted. It was emphasised that the event greatly contributed to the enrichment of the professional experience and knowledge of the participants, the study of modern methods of organizing productive work with children with disabilities and new approaches to improving inclusive education.
