Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Turkmenistan Ali Mojtaba Rouzbehani noted positive role of Ashgabat in strengthening regional stability.

According to the head of the diplomatic mission, the role of neighbours, especially in Central Asia and the Caucasus, is decisive in the current political situation in the region. The sending of humanitarian aid in solidarity from countries such as Turkmenistan, Russia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan demonstrates deep regional ties.

«Turkmenistan, which shares a 1200-kilometre border with our country, played a particularly important and ethical role. The Government of Turkmenistan, based on the principle of «permanent and positive neutrality», has from the outset called for a peaceful resolution of differences through dialogue and has taken important steps to facilitate the movement of citizens and family reunification. The civilizational and cultural ties between the two peoples have led to society of Turkmenistan following events in Iran with deep empathy, which is undeniable evidence of the inviolability of good-neighbourly diplomacy», − the diplomat stated.
