Where to find the best fabrics in Turkmenistan? This question will never take the residents of the country by surprise. As a historical centre of sericulture on the Great Silk road, modern Turkmenistan continues to develop the textile industry as a strategic area of the economy.

The «Altyn asyr» Marketing centre became the main point of attraction for buyers. Here, under the brand «Made in Turkmenistan», a wide selection of materials is presented – gabardine and satin, tarpaulin and cretonne, viscose, ripstop, poplin, as well as staple fabrics and cotton flannel. Most of these fabrics are products of the Ruhabat Textile complex.

The history of company began in 2010 with the launch of a cotton and polyester yarn factory, and in 2012, the second stage − textile dyeing production-came into operation.

Today, the complex combines spinning, weaving and dyeing factories into a single technological cycle. Here, they produce blended threads from domestic cotton with the addition of polyester and lycra, and also fulfil special orders for yarn of various thicknesses, much of which is exported.

The assortment of complex has recently expanded to include new types of fabrics in fashionable shades with floral prints, designed for outerwear. In addition to raw materials, the company also produces finished products – traditional headscarves, tablecloths, and prayer rugs.

The high quality and national character of Turkmen textiles allow them to compete successfully in the global market, as evidenced by international certificates and the continued interest of foreign partners.

The Ministry of textile industry of Turkmenistan is actively implementing innovations. For the convenience of customers, an online trading system has already been established on the official websites of the companies, allowing them to purchase domestic products with one click.

This year, held under the motto «Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses», a key industry event will be the International exhibition Turkmen Textile Expo, which will be held in Ashgabat in June. This showcase of achievements will demonstrate the potential of our textile giants, who combine their commitment to tradition with the technologies of the future.
