From the 30th of May to 5th of June, representatives of the Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan are on a working visit to the West saxon university of applied sciences zwickau (Germany).

A delegation from a Turkmen university is taking part in the Alumni Week, organised by the university of Zwickau with the support of the German academic exchange service (DAAD).

This major international event, bringing together representatives from universities around the world, provides a platform for exchanging experiences in higher education, developing academic cooperation, and establishing long-term international ties.

The opening ceremony of Alumni Week took place on the 1st of June in the main conference hall of the central campus of the German university. The event was opened by the rector of the university, Professor Stefan Kassel, doctor of engineering sciences, with a welcoming speech to the participants.

The packed program of the week included discussions on a wide range of topics, including sustainable management of international projects and the development of dual degree programs, the integration of sustainable development principles into science and education, the development of modern educational micro-qualifications, and the digital transformation of education.

Participants were given engaging excursions, including a visit to the «Ubineum» competence centre and the new technology center at West saxon university, as well as a detailed tour of research and educational facilities of the the university.

The central event of the visit was a special meeting of the Turkmen delegation with the rector of the university of Zwickau.

During the talks, the parties reviewed the results of productive bilateral cooperation between the universities and discussed priority areas for its further development. Specific plans were outlined for the implementation of joint research and educational projects, the exchange of teachers and students, the development of academic mobility programs, and the strengthening of cooperation in the fields of telecommunications, information security, and digital technologies.

Particular attention was paid to the achievements of Turkmenistan in the field of education over the years of independence. The effectiveness of the work was emphasised, as a result of which a solid modern scientific and educational base has been formed in the country today.

Detailed information was presented on large-scale projects for the digital transformation of education in Turkmenistan, including the introduction of digital platforms, modern information technologies, and innovative teaching methods that will help elevate the national education system to a qualitatively new level.

The rector of West Saxon university praised the level of training of specialists at the Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation. As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue and deepen cooperation, as well as to jointly develop new educational and scientific initiatives.

A productive and mutually beneficial partnership between the Institute of telecommunications and informatics of Turkmenistan and the West Saxon university of applied sciences Zwickau has been ongoing since 2016, based on a Memorandum of bilateral cooperation signed between the universities.
