A meeting of the chairpersons of national trade union centers from Central Asian countries with representatives of the International Labour Organization Workers' Bureau (ACTRAV) was held on the sidelines of the 114th Session of the International Labour Conference in Geneva. Representatives of trade unions from Mongolia and Azerbaijan, both friendly neighboring countries actively involved in regional cooperation, also participated in the event.

During the meeting, issues related to the development of the trade union movement, strengthening social dialogue and further expanding cooperation between trade union organizations in the region were discussed. Participants also exchanged information on events planned for the current year.

Particular attention was paid to the meeting of trade union chairpersons from Central Asia and Azerbaijan, as well as a scientific and practical conference, which will be held in November in Ashgabat. It was noted that these events are part of the implementation of the Joint Action Plan for 2026–2027, signed in May of this year between the ILO Workers' Bureau and the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan. The meeting participants confirmed their commitment to further strengthening regional cooperation and developing partnerships in the interests of workers.

Also on June 4, on the sidelines of the 114th session of the International Labour Conference, a meeting was held between Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, Chairperson of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, and Satybaldy Dauletalin, Chairperson of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for developing cooperation between trade union organizations of the two countries, protecting workers' labor rights, strengthening social partnership, and expanding interaction between national trade union centers.

The Chairperson of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan invited O.Berdiliyeva to visit Kazakhstan for a bilateral meeting and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the national trade union centers of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. The Turkmen side also received an invitation to participate in a regional trade union conference to be held in Almaty.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further strengthening friendly ties and developing mutually beneficial cooperation between trade unions of the two countries.
