As part of the environmental campaign “Cooperation for a Green Future,” dedicated to World Environment Day, events were held on June 5 at the Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
The program of the large-scale environmental initiative, organized by the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO in cooperation with the public organization “Young Naturalist,” included the thematic exhibition “Eco-Steps: From the Past to the Future” and a conference of the same name.

The exhibition vividly showcased key achievements and promising projects in the fields of environmental education and nature conservation. Local UNESCO clubs, Associated Schools, creative groups, and representatives of the country’s private sector presented their work here.
The conference brought together representatives of relevant government agencies, higher educational institutions, public organizations, and international bodies. Participants focused on such pressing contemporary issues as combating climate change, promoting water diplomacy, preventing environmental pollution, ensuring environmental security, and advancing sustainable development. Speakers particularly emphasized the effectiveness of the comprehensive environmental protection programs that are being consistently implemented at the state level in Turkmenistan.

A highlight of the two-day environmental marathon was the award ceremony. The organizers presented certificates of honor and commemorative gifts to the most active participants who had made significant contributions to the success of the campaign.
At the conclusion of the event, participants expressed their sincere appreciation to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag, and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for their extensive efforts aimed at transforming the country into a flourishing land, maintaining environmental well-being, and preserving the nation’s natural heritage with care.
