Today the conference «Gahryman Arkadagymyzyň, Arkadagly Gahryman Serdar Prezidentimiziň baştutanlygynda halkara dost-doganlyk gatnaşyklary – parahatçylygyň we ösüşiň berk binýady» was held at the centre for public organisations. During the forum held in the year «Independent neutral Turkmenistan – the homeland of purposeful winged horses», the success of historically significant steps taken under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and thanks to the consistent efforts of Hero-Arkadag, aimed at strengthening constructive interstate relations that meet the interests of common well-being, was emphasised.
Our Fatherland, where every day is filled with significant events, makes a significant contribution to taking fruitful international and regional partnerships to new heights, strengthening global peace and sustainable development. Relations of our country with regional states are mutually beneficial, which also contributes to strengthening the position of independent, neutral Turkmenistan in the global economic system.
In this context, speeches of the conference participants noted the significance of state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Azerbaijan and the negotiations held during it, which laid a solid foundation for taking bilateral relations to a qualitatively new level. At the same time, the constructive nature of the international initiatives promoted by our country, aimed at achieving specific results, was emphasised.
It was noted that the interstate Turkmen-Azerbaijani dialogue is developing dynamically, taking into account modern realities. In this regard, the importance of intensifying trans-Caspian trade and economic relations in increasing mutual trade turnover was emphasised. Particular attention was also paid to the importance of initiatives aimed at ensuring global peace, security and sustainable development.
As noted, the Republic of Azerbaijan is one of the strategic partners of Turkmenistan, confidently following the path of progress. In the modern epoch, the long-standing historical and cultural community of our fraternal peoples serves as a reliable foundation for the progressive development of bilateral cooperation.
It was emphasised that the state visit of Hero Arkadagly Serdar to the neighbouring country opened up broad prospects for expanding mutually beneficial Turkmen-Azerbaijani partnership. As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted during high-level talks held during the visit, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to developing cooperation with the Republic of Azerbaijan. Our countries and peoples are connected by centuries-old traditions of good neighbourliness, common history, culture, language, and spiritual values.
The dynamic nature of bilateral cooperation is also evidenced by the meetings held between representatives of relevant agencies of the two countries and the signing of a large package of important documents during the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Today, centuries-old traditions of friendship and good neighbourliness provide favourable opportunities for effective, multifaceted cooperation. As noted, during the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Azerbaijan, increasing trade turnover, intensifying information exchanges, and cooperation in other promising areas were identified as pressing tasks.
A historically significant event during the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Azerbaijan was the gift of the oil tanker «Dostluk» to Turkmenistan by a friendly country. In a solemn ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev presented the corresponding Certificate to Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
Particular emphasis in the speeches delivered at the forum was placed on the importance of the agreements reached during the Turkmen-Azerbaijani high-level negotiations for both countries. In this regard, the attention paid by Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to the issues of realizing the existing potential of transport and transit corridors and logistics centres, and expanding productive cooperation in this area was noted.
