Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting attended by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev and the khyakims of the velayats, during which issues concerning the development of the agricultural sector and the progress of work in the regions of the country were considered.

The first to speak was T. Nurmyradov, Khyakim of the Ahal velayat, who reported on the progress of seasonal field campaigns in the region.

As noted, preparations are currently underway for ceremonial events marking the start of the cotton harvesting season.

Wheat sowing has begun in an organized manner in the velayat, and the necessary measures are being taken to carry it out in accordance with agrotechnical requirements. Agricultural machinery is being used at full capacity during the sowing campaign, while work continues to ensure that wheat producers are fully supplied with high-quality seeds.

Winter potatoes, vegetable and melon crops, and other agricultural crops are being tended in accordance with agrotechnical standards.

The Khyakim also reported on the progress of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities scheduled to be commissioned in connection with the country's Independence Day.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the importance of carrying out wheat sowing within the established agrotechnical time frame and ensuring an organized start to the cotton harvest, giving the Khyakim specific instructions in this regard.

The Head of State ordered that strict control be maintained over the high quality and timely completion of construction work at facilities of various types scheduled to be commissioned in connection with the glorious celebration of sacred independence.

The floor was then given to R. Jumayev, Khyakim of the Balkan velayat, who reported on the seasonal agricultural campaigns being carried out in the region.

As noted, preparations are underway in the velayat for events marking the start of the cotton harvesting season.

At the same time, wheat sowing continues in the velayat, and the necessary measures are being taken to ensure the efficient use of agricultural machinery and provide grain growers with high-quality seeds.

Guided by the instructions of the President of Turkmenistan on further strengthening food abundance in the country, care is currently being provided to areas planted with winter potatoes, vegetable and melon crops, and other food crops.

The head of the regional administration also reported on the progress of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities whose opening is timed to coincide with the glorious 35th anniversary of the country's independence.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of the ongoing seasonal agricultural activities and, in this connection, noted the need to take appropriate measures to ensure the high-quality and organized conduct of wheat sowing and the loss-free harvesting of the cotton crop, giving the Khyakim relevant instructions.

The working meeting then continued with a report by D. Babayev, Khyakim of the Dashoguz velayat, on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the region.

As noted, cotton ginning enterprises, collection points, harvesters, and motor vehicles for transporting the harvested cotton crop are ready for the season, and preparations are currently underway for the ceremonial start of the cotton harvest.

The necessary measures are being taken in the velayat to ensure the high-quality conduct of wheat sowing in accordance with agrotechnical standards. Agricultural machinery is being used at full capacity, and producers are being supplied with high-quality seeds.

At the same time, appropriate care continues to be provided to areas planted with winter vegetable and melon crops, rice, and other agricultural crops.

Information was also provided on the progress of construction of facilities scheduled to be commissioned this year under the country's socio-economic development programmes.

Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the high-quality and timely implementation of seasonal agricultural campaigns is an essential requirement and, in this connection, instructed the Khyakim to keep these activities under control.

As noted, with the blessing of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, appropriate preparatory work is under way in the velayats of the Motherland for the start of the cotton harvest, scheduled for 9 September of the current year.

Wheat sowing is currently continuing on the country's agricultural lands. To ensure the high-quality and timely implementation of this important campaign, the necessary measures are being taken to use agricultural machinery at full capacity and to provide producers with high-quality seeds.

At the same time, winter food crops are being tended in the velayats. In the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats, care for rice crops continues, while in the Mary velayat, inter-row cultivation, mineral fertilization, and irrigation during the growing season are being carried out for sugar beet.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the significant role of the agricultural sector in the national economy and, in this connection, noted the need to conduct the current seasonal agricultural campaigns at a high organizational level, instructing the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers to keep the work under way in this area under control.

Then, addressing the participants of the working meeting, the Head of State noted the importance of proper preparations for the start of the cotton harvest in the velayats, conducting wheat sowing at a high level in accordance with agrotechnical standards, making efficient use of agricultural machinery and seeders during the wheat sowing campaign, providing grain growers with high-quality seeds, and taking measures to prevent the appearance of pests in cotton fields.

Emphasizing the work aimed at further strengthening food abundance in the country, the Head of State ordered that proper care be provided, in accordance with agrotechnical standards, to winter potatoes, vegetable and melon crops, and other agricultural crops in the velayats, as well as to rice in the Dashoguz and Lebap velayats and to sugar beet in the Mary velayat, within the established time frame.

In addition, the President of the country gave relevant instructions on the timely settlement of payments for work performed between wheat and cotton producers and the enterprises and institutions providing services in the regions, as well as on maintaining strict control over the progress of construction of social, cultural, and industrial facilities scheduled to open in the velayats in connection with the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Motherland.

Concluding the working meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov wished its participants good health, family well-being, and great success in their work.
