As part of his state visit to the Republic of Korea, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the leading Korean higher education institution, Sungkyunkwan University, where a solemn ceremony was held to confer upon the Head of State the title of “Honorary Doctor of Political Science.”

In his welcoming address, the President of Turkmenistan noted the positive dynamics in the development of direct contacts between higher education institutions of the two countries. In particular, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the key role of Sungkyunkwan University in effective cooperation with the International University for the Humanities and Development, as well as with Oguz Han Engineering and Technology University.

The Head of State stated that Ashgabat attaches priority importance to implementing new educational initiatives, including exchange programs for students, teachers, and researchers.

Particular attention was paid to the training of qualified specialists in such fields as artificial intelligence, engineering, energy, digital technologies, and industrial management. The President of Turkmenistan expressed confidence that Sungkyunkwan University would continue to take an active part in joint educational and scientific projects.
