During his state visit to the Republic of Korea, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the first «Central Asia – Republic of Korea» Summit. In his speech, the head of state outlined key priorities for further interstate cooperation, placing particular emphasis on the technological modernisation of the urban environment.

Turkmenistan considers integrated infrastructure and urban development to be one of the strategic areas of cooperation. In this context, the President of Turkmenistan recalled the «Smart cities diplomacy» initiative, which aims to develop modern digital infrastructure and coordinate relevant research between countries in the region and the Republic of Korea.

Thus, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov placed particular emphasis on the creation of integrated and sustainable urban models, the exchange of experience in the digitalisation of the urban environment, and the joint implementation of scientific and technical solutions.

The head of state stated readiness of Ashgabat to actively participate in the format and contribute to strengthening equal partnership.

The President of Turkmenistan reaffirmed commitment of Turkmenistan to the principles of trusting dialogue and the practical implementation of joint projects.
