Today, a telephone conversation took place between President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

The President of the Russian Federation sincerely congratulated the head of the Turkmen state on his birthday, wishing him good health, prosperity, and great success in his responsible government duties.

President Vladimir Putin also noted the significant contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to strengthening interstate relations and conveyed warm greetings to Hero-Arkadag.

Expressing gratitude for the warm congratulations, the President of Turkmenistan noted that he views best wishes of President Vladimir Putin as a sign of sincere respect and friendship, and, taking the opportunity, congratulated the head of the friendly state on the successful elections to the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted the high level of organisation of the vote and wished the new Russian parliament fruitful work for the benefit of the country and its citizens. The head of state also expressed confidence in the further successful development and strengthening of cooperation between the parliaments of Turkmenistan and Russia.

As noted during the telephone conversation, Turkmenistan attaches great importance to the development of friendly and mutually beneficial relations with the Russian Federation based on the principles of mutual trust and respect.
