The Second International Conference Entitled “Universal Health Coverage and the Sustainable Development Goals” was held at the Congress Center of the Avaza National Tourist Zone. The forum was attended by heads and representatives of the Mejlis and relevant ministries of Turkmenistan, parliaments of the CIS member states, international organizations, as well as leading scientists and experts.

Chairwoman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova addressed the conference participants. She noted that the centuries-old traditions of humanism, kindness, and compassion of the Turkmen people are today being given profound practical expression at the state level.

Particular emphasis in her speech was placed on the extensive activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.

“Thanks to the funds of this foundation, children in various regions of the country receive complex medical procedures and appropriate treatment free of charge. Children’s hospitals also regularly receive donations of modern medical equipment and high-tech ambulances. This humanitarian mission is carried out not only in our country but also on the international stage. The Foundation regularly provides assistance to children affected by natural disasters and economic hardships in various parts of the world. These noble deeds are yet another vivid testament to Turkmenistan’s commitment to the principles of peace, good-neighborliness, and high humanism,” emphasized the Chairwoman of the Mejlis.

D. Gulmanova also noted that Turkmenistan supports the active enrichment of regional cooperation with new ideas and projects.

In conclusion, she expressed confidence that the initiatives and legislative proposals formulated during this international conference would make a significant contribution to strengthening the universal healthcare system, developing friendly ties among peoples, and ensuring the well-being of future generations.
