On the second day of the official visit to the Republic of Moldova President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History, one of the oldest museums in Moldova.
In the morning President Nicolae Timofti arrived at the Residence of the Government of the Republic of Moldova where he had a meeting with President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. Greeting each other, the leaders of the two friendly states noted that the Turkmen leader’s visit had added a new chapter to the history of Turkmen-Moldovan relations and expressed belief that the top-level agreements would be put into life in the near future and would contribute to fostering and building up mutually beneficial partnership.
Expressing sincere gratitude to the President of Moldova for the cordial welcome, the President of Turkmenistan noted that in fact a qualitatively new stage of TurkmenMoldova dialogue, which is mainly characterised by high effectiveness and a focus on full cooperation given its tremendous potential, had been reached. In this context, emphasis was put on the role of the Turkmenistan-Moldova Intergovernmental Commission for trade, economic and cultural cooperation that would certainly contribute to strengthening and diversifying bilateral partnership.
After the meeting was concluded, the Turkmen leader headed to the National Museum of Ethnography and Natural History where the cordial and hearty welcome was given to the distinguished guest. The President of Turkmenistan got acquainted with the thematic expositions reflecting the various periods of the history of Moldova as well as the storage conditions and technologies. Inviting Moldovan specialists to visit our country and establish direct contacts with their Turkmen counterparts, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the Intergovernmental Commission and the Agreement on Cultural Cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Moldova, which had been signed during intergovernmental talks in Chisinau, were to facilitate this partnership.
The President of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude for the interesting tour and wrote an entry to the Book of Guests of Honour.
Then the motorcade escorting the President of Turkmenistan headed to the International Airport. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left Chisinau for Turkmenbashi.
