The admission campaign to the institutions of higher education of Turkmenistan held on July 15-29 finished and young people are taking their entrance examination to higher educational institutions and vocational schools in our .
According to the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, 27,426 university entrants submitted their applications to the higher educational institutions in the country. This year, 6,100 young people will be admitted to the institutions of higher education for the 2013-2014 academic year that is 334 students more than in the previous year. Thus, on average in the country, 4-5 entrants apply for a quota in a higher educational institution.
This year, almost all higher educational institutions have increased their admission quota. In this regard, this year 855 students are to be admitted to Magtymguly Turkmen State University, 450 – to the State Medical University, 285 - to D. Azady Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, ,407 – to the State Institute of Oil and Gas, 538 - to the State Institute of Architecture and Construction, 420 – to the State Institute of Economics and Management, 390– to the State Institute of Transport and Communications, 180 – to the State Institute of Finance, 60 – to the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
S. Seidi State Pedagogical Institute will admit 260 students, the Turkmen Agricultural University – 215 students, the International Turkmen-Turkish University – 550 students, the National Institute of Sports and Tourism – 315 students, the State Institute of Energy – 275 students.
The number of first-years students admitted to the art institutions of the country rose 10 times. 170 students are to be admitted to the State Institute of Culture, 130 – to the Turkmen National Conservatoire and 90 – to the State Academy of Fine Arts.
The new specialities - Catering Management, Commerce and Economic Security are introduced into curriculum of the State Institute of Economics and Management. 15 students will study each speciality.
The entrance exams will last until August 24.
At the requests of ministries and departments, core institutions, enterprises and organisations, 6,522 students are to be admitted to vocational schools in the new academic year that is 747 students more than in the previous year. Over 13,000 entrants submitted their documents to the vocational schools. 30,000 students are to be admitted to the primary vocational schools.
In general, of 98,000 school leavers 42,600 students (that is more than 43 percent) are to be admitted to the primary and secondary vocational schools and institutions of higher education this year.
