President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Security Council. The meeting agenda focused on the work done by the military and law enforcement agencies for seven months of the current year. President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov heard the detailed reports of the members of the State Security Council on the progress in implementing the military reform, the work done for seven months of the current year and the measures taken to maintain social and political stability in the country and strengthen the foundations of national security.

Commenting on the reports, the Turkmen leader focused on the need to take an integrated approach to promote the legal and military reforms in the country. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov specified the major tasks to ensure a peaceful life and adherence to the spirit and the letter of the law and create the most favourable social and political climate to the military and law enforcement agencies. Focusing on the importance of the mission entrusted to military servants, the President noted that performing military duty, they should always remember that Turkmenistan as an independent neutral state was strongly committed to broad international cooperation in the interests of global peace, security and sustainable development.

Emphasizing the importance of fulfilling the tasks set to the national army, the President instructed to continue to the well organized work on combat training of young soldiers and take the necessary measures to create the favourable conditions of service, life and recreation of the defenders of the Fatherland. The President instructed the heads of the agencies responsible for maintaining law and order in the country to pay close attention to such an important aspect of their work as the selection of competent and highly skilled personnel.

Focusing on the growing interest of the international community in our country as evidenced by an increasing number of foreign guests visiting Turkmenistan, the President gave specific instructions to the heads of the customs and migration services that greatly contributed to the positive image of the country and its attractiveness to tourists and business partners from all over the world. Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting of the State Security Council.
