President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working visit to Ahal Velayat where he considered the project of the new administrative centre of the region.
Early in the morning the President drove to the southwest of Geoktepe Etrap situated at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. The Vice Premiers, the Ahal Velayat Khyakim and the heads of the ministries greeted the Turkmen leader there.
Ahal Velayat Khyakim M. Nurmammedov reported in details to the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the new construction projects and presented the layouts of future facilities and buildings and the general plan of the new administrative centre of Ahal Velayat for consideration. A number of draft designs of the office building of the Ahal Velayat Khyakimlik were presented to the President for consideration.
The draft designs of future educational facilities, in particular the buildings of schools and kindergartens were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. It was noted that these facilities would be built in compliance with modern requirements and provide favourable conditions for integrated development and all-round education of the younger generation. The Ahal Velayat Khyakim reported that five- and seven-storey apartment buildings with 40 and 90 comfortable apartments respectively would be built in the new administrative centre of the region, along with the aforementioned facilities.
The draft designs of infrastructure facilities, which would ensure uninterrupted electricity, water and heat supply to office and residential buildings, were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
After considering the projects and draft designs, the Turkmen leader provided comments and recommendations on them.
The Turkmen leader said much attention should be paid to such an important factor as the remoteness of industrial facilities from office and residential buildings. The President also instructed to explore the possibility of increasingly involving Turkmen private construction companies, which have the profound working experience in this field, in the implementation of the construction projects in the new administrative centre of Ahal Velayat.
Noting that these important factors should be taken into account when drafting the projects of various facilities and buildings, the President gave specific instructions to the high-ranking officials to take a science-based approach to the study of the territory of the new administrative centre of Ahal Velayat. In particular, such natural features of the area as the level of seismic activity should be taken into consideration.
The Turkmen leader noted that a science-based approach to studying the territory in Geoktepe Etrap and Anau oasis chosen as the territory of the new administrative centre of Ahal Velayat and drafting the proposals for the placement of the new administrative centre of Ahal Velayat taking account of the local natural factors should be taken. Then the President cordially bade farewell to those present. After completing the working visit to Ahal Velayat, the President returned in Ashgabat.
Summing up the results of the working visit to Ahal Velayat, the President once again emphasized that the success of the ambitious urban development programme was essential to future growth of the capital and the regions.
