President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov headed to Chandybil Avenue, where the Chairman of the State Committee for Sports B. Orazov and the members of the national cycle racing team of Turkmenistan meet the Turkmen leader.
Cordially greeting those present and underlining the importance of the upcoming large-scale event "Road Safety - Security of Our Life", the Turkmen leader focused on the necessity to take a very responsible approach towards the organization of the nationwide bicycle marathon to be held on September 1 in the framework of the Road Safety Month. In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan gave a number of specific instructions to the relevant officials.
Then the Turkmen leader talked with the members of the national cycle racing team, asking them about their trainings, preparations for international competitions and conditions created in the country for cycling.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also asked the sportsmen about the types of bicycles and design of sports costumes.
The President of Turkmenistan instructed the Chairman of the State Committee for Sports to provide sportsmen with all necessary equipment and sportswear. At the request of bicyclists, the Turkmen leader joined them and made a bike ride along the Chandybil Avenue. The bicyclists stopped near the Monument of Neutrality, which is located in the south of the Turkmen capital. Noting that the bicycle races should be held regularly, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the need to develop a specific programme of measures with the aim to popularize cycling in the sports schools in the regions, cities and straps.
