On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Turkmenistan Mr. Pascal Aebischer.
During the meeting the plenipotentiary representative of the Swiss Confederation was briefed of key areas of the domestic and foreign policies and major aspects of the ongoing reform programmes in our country. A focus of talks was the activities of the Mejlis and its role in promoting democratic processes launched in Turkmenistan. It was undefined the efficiency of cooperation of the two countries within the European Union and the UN structural agencies.
The trade and economic sector, cooperation in the spheres of medicine, science and high technologies, education, culture, ecology and tourism were specified among the priority areas of the bilateral partnership. Underlining the significance of enhancing the partnership between the two countries in various areas, Mr. Pascal Aebischer emphasized that he as the plenipotentiary representative of his country would contribute to the further development of the intergovernmental dialogue.
During his visit to Ashgabat the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Turkmenistan was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting agenda focused on the issues of the further development of the Turkmen-Swiss relations.
