President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a regular videoconference with the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat. The agenda focused on priority domestic policy issues, in particular the progress in the agricultural campaign and the implementation of the ambitious programmes.

In particular, the reports focused on the progress in the agricultural campaigns – the winter wheat sowing campaign and the cotton campaign – and the measures taken to settle accounts with tenant farmers for raw cotton they had harvested.

The President was informed of the programme of a meeting of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan.

The layouts of new facilities and buildings in Ahal Velayat and the construction projects to be implemented in Ashgabat were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.

Focusing on the need to ensure the high level of organisation of the winter wheat and cotton campaigns, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the shortcomings in some regions and demanded that they should be eliminated as soon as possible.

After considering the layouts, the Turkmen leader provided specific recommendations and comments.

Focusing on the need for a well thought-out, comprehensive approach to the work carried out in the capital that should be done in a proper manner and serve as a model for all the regions of the country, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance of improving urban infrastructure and adopting of advanced technologies and innovations for this purpose.

The President gave specific instructions to the high-ranking officials to prepare infrastructure facilities for the heating season.

Other policy issues were considered during the meeting, and the decisions were adopted.
