The President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has received the deputy of Secretary General of United Nations, executive secretary of UN Economic Commission for Europe Mr. Sven Alkalaj arrived to Ashgabat for participation in the international conference “Energy security and sustainable development is perspective of the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe”.
In the course of the meeting the head of state and his high-ranking guest have exchanged views on key issues of cooperation between our country and UN Economic Commission for Europe, and taking into account that in this year during 65th session of UN Economic Commission for Europe Turkmenistan was selected as chair country of this committee for the period of two years.
Underlining that Turkmenistan plays an important role in activity of UN Economic Commission for Europe, Mr, Sven Alkalay has also noted that issues concerning energy subject and further development of international energy dialogue will be discussed during the next meeting of committee on sustainable energy of UN Economic Commission for Europe which is planned to hold in November of the current year.
