President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the eve of Independence Da. The representatives of the Mejlis, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat, the rectors of higher educational institutions, the editors-in-chief of newspapers and journals and other high-ranking officials attended the meeting. The domestic policy issues and the drafts of important documents were considered during the meeting.
Before opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader heartily congratulated those present and Turkmen citizens on the upcoming national holiday – the 22nd anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.
The Vice Premiers presented the reports on the work done. The information on the preparation of the 2014 State Budget was presented. As in previous years, the revenues of the State Budget will be formed in the basic sectors of the national economy. It is expected to increase fund allocations to fulfil the critical tasks to implement the strategic programmes and ambitious projects initiated by the Turkmen leader, including the construction of social, cultural, industrial, telecommunications and transport facilities in the capital and the regions of the country.
Commenting on the report, the President approved the important document as a whole and ordered to submit it to the deputies of the Mejlis for consideration. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Vice Premiers to discuss the draft State Budget with the velayat khyakims once again.
The Turkmen leader signed the Decree on the Granting Citizenship of Turkmenstan authorizing to grant citizneship to 609 stateless persons.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued the Decree authorizing to pardon 1002 persons to mark the 22nd anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan. Addressing the high-ranking law enforcement officials, the Turkmen leader instructed to take the necessary measures to ensure that the pardoned would be released from prison and would spend the holiday with their families.
The President of Turkmenistan issued the Decree on the dismissal of Chairman of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern M. Balakaev for the serious shortcomings in his work.
The heads of the velayat administrations and the agro-industrial sector presented the reports on the work done. It was noted that cotton growers had fulfilled their contractual obligations and picked 1.050 million tons of ‘white gold’. The winter crop sowing campaign had been completed throughout the country.
Cordially congratulating farmers and agricultural workers on the remarkable events, the Turkmen leader wished them good health, happiness and outstanding achievements for the benefit of the Motherland.
