Greeting the leader of the friendly state, the President of Turkmenistan congratulated him and the Turkish people on the Republic Day of Turkey celebrated on October 29, wishing them happiness, wellbeing and prosperity. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated Abdullah Gul on his birthday, wishing his counterpart good health, long life and every success in his multifaceted activities.
Thanking for the cordial wishes, President of Turkey Abdullah Gul congratulated the Turkmen people and their leader on the anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan, wishing them peace, happiness and new achievements.
During the telephone conversation the leaders of the two states exchanged views on the current state and development prospects of the interstate dialogue, including within the authoritative international organisations and regional structures, and discussed a number of issues of regional and international politics of mutual interest.
Highly evaluating the potential of the Turkmen-Turkish dialogue, the sides were unanimous that interstate relations should be enhanced and new joint projects contributing to economic development of the two friendly states as well as the entire region should be implemented.
The sides expressed belief that mutually beneficial partnership built on a long-term and equitable basis would further develop. The President of Turkey invited the leader of the Turkmen state to visit Turkey at any time convenient. The invitation was accepted with gratitude. The dates of a visit will be adjusted through diplomatic channels.
