The Turkmen-Belarusian top-level talks between President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, who had arrived on an official visit to the Turkmen capital, took pale in Ashgabat.
The one-to-one talks took place in the Golden Hall. The leaders of Turkmenistan and Belarus exchanged their views on the important issues of the regional and international politics, which are of particular interest for the both countries.
Then the government delegations of Turkmenistan and Belarus joined in the talks which took place in the Gorkut Ata Hall.
Underlining that the trade and economic relations play significant role in the development of the Turkmen-Belarusian multi-aspect dialogue, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized that in 2012 the trade turnover between the two states had reached US$ 400 million.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested the Belarusian partners to consider an opportunity of opening of the training and production centre of Belarusian transport enterprises in Turkmenistan.
Then the floor was given to the President of Belarus. Expressing the deep gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan for the hospitality and wonderful conditions created for the delegation of Belarus, the distinguished guest emphasized the efficient character of the Turkmen-Belarusian partnership in the trade and economic sphere and the prospects for cooperation in the scientific and technological sector expressing the willingness of Belarus to share its potential in this sphere with Turkmenistan. The issues of supplying the Belarusian agricultural and motor equipment and municipal transport to Turkmenistan for the newt two-year period were discussed within the framework of the top-level talks.
