President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the important domestic policy issues and draft documents were considered.
The Vice Premiers presented the reports. The draft designs of cultural and social facilities under construction in the framework of the national development programme, including hospitals, medical centres, schools, kindergartens and cultural centres, were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The reports covered the preparations for the forthcoming election to the Mejlis of Turkmenistan. 125 election districts have been established, election commissions are working in the region and candidates are being nominated throughout the country. The information on the preparations for the upcoming official visit of the leader of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 25-26 was presented.
It was reported that Turkmenistan was elected to the Executive Board of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for 2013-2017 on November 13 in Paris at the 37th session of the General Conference of the United Nations.
The information on the measures taken to improve crop rotation - to remove cotton from crop rotation in Balkan Velayat, where 5,000 tons of cotton were be grown, and compensate this amount of raw cotton by increasing crop capacity in other regions.
The report on the preparations for the International Exhibition “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan-2013” and the 18th international science conference focusing on the main directions of development of Turkmenistan's oil and gas industry and international cooperation, which will be held in Ashgabat on November 19-21 with the participation of the world's major oil and gas companies and the foreign media, was presented.
The information on the progress in construction of the plant producing carbamide and ammonia in Mary that had entered the final stage, the workshop of the Turkmenabat chemical plant producing sulphuric acid and the Garlyk ore-dressing and processing plant was presented. The projects of the industrial complex producing carbamide and ammonia in Garabogaz and the plant producing sodium sulphate and synthetic detergents are currently developed jointly with the consortium of the Japanese and Turkish companies was presented.
The report on the measures taken to hold New Year fairs and saturate markets and shops with souvenirs and gifts was presented.
The report on the preparations for the International Conference "The Trends in the Development of Biotechnology in Turkmenistan", which would be held in the Avaza national tourism zone on November 20-21, was presented. In particular, the Vice Premier reported that the forum would bring together scientists and experts from 40 countries of the world.
The information on the preparations for a joint performance of the Galkynysh equestrian sports group of the Turkmen Atlary State Association and the group Turkmen Dzhigits of the State Circus of Turkmenistan, which would take place in Ankara, the Republic of Turkey on December 13-15, was presented.
The information on the measures taken to fulfil the Turkmen leader's instructions to develop the local airlines was presented. It was noted that the capacity of different brands of small aircrafts and the possibilities to use them on domestic air routes had been studied. Based on the analysis of the development prospects and the current state of the airports in towns and the etrap centres, it was considered appropriate to build new airports. The local airport projects are to be implemented in two phases. The projects of the runways and infrastructure facilities of local airports are currently developed.
The Turkmen leader signed the resolutions on the improvement of the procedures for construction and assembling operations in villages, settlements, towns in etraps and centres and on the approval of the agreement on air service between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the French Republic.
The President dismissed Vice Premier and Acting Chairman of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern Ya. Nuryev for the serious shortcomings in his work and the misuse of his official position for personal gain. B. Italmazov was appointed Acting Chairman of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern.
