President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the Vice Premiers, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the heads of the ministries and departments concerned. The priority domestic policy issues, the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and the measures taken to organize and hold social and cultural events were considered.
The meeting participants reported on the measures taken to strengthen the material and technical basis of the agro-industrial sector, efficiently use arable land, conduct effective land reclamation works, improve social and living conditions of citizens and build various facilities. The report on the readiness of the heating systems in apartment and administrative buildings for the winter season was presented. The programme of the celebrations in honour of the Harvest Festival, which is observed in Turkmenistan each year on the last Sunday in November, was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The President was informed of the measures taken to improve the welfare of citizens of the newly established etraps of the capital and to ensure the high level of organisation of a regular meeting of the Elders’ Council, which would take place in Lebap Velayat.
The President was briefed on the results of the 19th Plenary meeting of the Eurasian Group on Combating Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (EAG), which took place in Ashgabat on November 14-15. The report on the results of the international workshop on freezing of terrorist assets pertaining to the Security Council Resolution organized by the Ministry of Finance of Turkmenistan jointly with the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate, EAG and the International Training and Methodology Centre for Financial Monitoring of the Russian Federation in Ashgabat was presented.
The information on the 2nd meeting of the Council of the leaders of financial intelligence units of the CIS states, which took place in in Ashgabat last week, was presented. The report on the successful performance of the Turkmen athletes at the world belt wrestling championships in the Russian Federation was presented.
The information on the awards the Turkmen sportsmen had gained in the international tournaments in 2013. Currently, the receptacle of the sporting achievements of Turkmenistan contains 262 awards, including 96 gold medals, 89 silver medals and 77 bronze medals. The projects for the modernisation and development of transport infrastructure in Ashgabat and the construction of facilities in the south of the capital were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
During the meeting, the President signed the Resolutions on the appointment of M. Annanepesov as Vice Chairman of the State Food Industry Association of Turkmenistan and M. Baimyradov as Deputy Khyakim of Berkararlyk Etrap of Ashgabat.
