President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India Mr. Sunil Jain, who was completing his diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the diplomat emphasized that he would have warm recollections about Turkmenistan - the great country where he was lucky to live and work for several years and witness the ambitious reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the epoch of might and happiness.

The plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country noted that India highly evaluated and fully supported the peaceful policy of the Turkmen state and its international initiatives aimed at strengthening the foundations of peace, security and sustainable development on regional and global scale.

Thanking for the kind words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focused on the particular importance that Turkmenistan attached to promoting relations with India that had been bound with the Turkmen people by sincere friendship, mutual trust and understanding from time immemorial.

Focusing with satisfaction on the effectiveness of the constructive Turkmen-Indian dialogue, which had been fostered in recent years, the Turkmen leader thanked Mr. Sunil Jain for his contribution to strengthening long-term fruitful cooperation built on equality and mutual benefit.

It was noted that in recent years much work had been done to promote bilateral relations, in particular considerable progress had been made to implement the ambitious joint projects, including the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, the largest one on the Asian continent. In this regard, emphasis was placed on the crucial role of the important document between the TAPI and the Asian Development Bank – the Service Agreement with Transactional Advisor signed in the framework of the international oil and gas forum in Ashgabat.

Emphasizing the existing tremendous potential to build up interstate cooperation that successfully developed in the bi- and multi-lateral formats, the President and his guest noted that Turkmenistan and India stood ready to further diversify cooperation in all key areas that fully met the interests of the two countries and their friendly peoples.

In conclusion, the Ambassador of India once again heartily thanked the Turkmen leader for providing assistance and support that had contributed to his successful work as the head of the diplomatic mission in Turkmenistan.
