President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the domestic policy issues were considered and the important documents were signed.

The Vice Premiers reported on the draft Regulations on the licensing of banking activities and activities related to precious metals and precious stones, the preparation for the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Afghanistan Commission for trade and economic cooperation, which would be held in the capital of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Kabul on December 16-17.

The reports spotlighted the measures taken to explore the possibilities of building new power plants and increasing electricity exports to the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.

The report on the preparations for the elections to the Mejlis, which would be held on December 15, was presented. It was noted that international experts and observers, including the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and the CIS would conduct monitoring of the parliamentary elections in Turkmenistan.

The information on the progress in construction of a gas compressor plant in Malai gas field, which would enable to increase 'blue fuel’ exports via Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline, was presented.

The programme of the events in honour of the Day of Oil and Gas Industry Workers and Geologists was presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration. These included the conferences on the achievements and development prospects of Turkmenistan's fuel and energy sector.

The report on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities and the measures taken to improve the financial and economic state of the textile industry was presented. It was noted that the preparations for the sales of New Year gifts, souvenirs and New Year tree decorations were in full swing throughout the country.

The information of the preparations for the winter school holidays and the proposals for further development of the Avaza national tourism zone and Turkmenistan's tourism industry were presented.

The reports on the results of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, which took place in the United States on December 2-6 and the United Arab Emirates on December 8-9, and the preparations for the New Year celebrations were presented.

The information on the measures taken to fulfil the task to develop small aviation set by the Turkmen leader and a test flight of an ATR 42-600 aircraft along Ashgabat-Mary-Ashgabat route was presented.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Order on the business trip of a delegation of Turkmenistan to Kabul (Islamic Republic of Afghanistan) to participate in the fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmenistan-Afghanistan Commission for trade and economic cooperation, the Resolution on the approval of the membership of Turkmenistan in the Commission and the Resolution on the purchase of a gas measuring system for the gas compressor plant under construction in Malai gas field.

President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution on the construction of a rice enterprise with the annual capacity of 30,000 tons in Dashoguz Velayat and the construction of a desalination unit in Turkmenbashi Etrap in order to improve drinking water supply to Turkmenbashi town in Balkan Velayat and the Avaza national tourism zone.

Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting.
