President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting agenda focused on the work done for eleven months of the current year, the priority aspects of the foreign and domestic policies and draft documents. The deputies of the Mejlis, ambassadors of the Turkmenistan accredited in foreign countries, velayat khyakims, rectors of higher educational institutions, editors-in-chief of newspapers and magazines and other high-ranking officials were invited to the meeting.

Before opening the meeting, the President noted that the day of commemoration of the first President of Turkmenistan Saparmurat Niyazov would be observed on December 21.

The Vice Premiers presented the reports. It was reported that steady GDP growth was observed in January-November of the current year. The industrial production growth rate increased to 113.3 percent in eleven months of the current year as compared to the same period in 2012. Retail trade turnover increased by 19.5 percent in the reporting period as compared to the same period in 2012. Foreign trade turnover steadily increased.

The volume of investments used to develop the national economy from all the sources of financing increased each year. In the reporting period, the ratio of this macroeconomic indicator to GDP made up 46.1 percent .

It was noted that an increase in the volume of production of many kinds of products was observed in the reporting period. Thus, the growth rate of electricity production made up 18.8 billion kilowatt-hours, or increased to 104.2 percent as compared to the same period of 2012. The growth rate of crude oil production made up 101.7 percent, gasoline production - 102.2 percent, diesel fuel, kerosene, lubricants and coke production - 100.2 percent, petroleum bitumen - 132 percent, liquefied gas - 101.7 percent, polypropylene - 103.4 percent, iodine - 104.9 percent, cement - 189.5 per cent , non-metallic building materials - 118.5 percent , fittings and other metal products - 106.1 percent, ginned cotton - 100.4 percent and cotton fabrics - 107.8 percent.

The volume of construction works performed in January-November increased by 20.2 percent as compared to the same period in 2012.

In January-November, the good performance indicators were achieved in the agricultural sector. Agricultural output in particular production of fruit and vegetables, melons, and meat and milk, increased in the reporting period. The population of cattle, sheep and poultry grew in the reporting period.

In January-November, the revenues of the State budget were implemented at 122.8 percent, the expenditures - 96.5 percent. 76.9 percent of the budgetary funds were used in the social sphere.

Since the beginning of the current year, 720 delegations from abroad had visited Turkmenistan and 616 delegations of Turkmenistan had visited foreign countries. In the reporting period, 237 international conferences, forums , seminars and other events were held in the country and 141 international documents that laid the framework for international relations of Turkmenistan were signed.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on the licensing of banking activities and activities related to precious metals and stones .

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Decree on the appointment of K. Gurbanov Minister of Public Utilities and the documents releasing A. Rejepov from the post of Minister of Public Utilities and appointing him Deputy Minister of Public Utilities. The President signed the Resolutions appointing K. Kulyev Deputy Chairman of the Food Industry State Association and releasing G. Berdyev from the post of Deputy Minister of Public Utilities of Turkmenistan for shortcomings in his work.

Addressing the meeting participants, the President focused on the work done for eleven months of the current year and dwelt upon the priority aspects of the foreign policy and other domestic policy issues.

The Turkmen leader noted that the GDP growth rate made up 10.1 percent. Substantial investment was used t develop the social sphere. The volume of investment increased by 7.2 percent as compared to the same period of 2012, and were estimated at US$ 41 billion. foreign trade turnover amounted to US$ 28.4 billion. salaries raised 11 percent. The exchange rate was maintained in the reporting period.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on the Issues of Diplomatic Service of Turkmenistan and the Financial Issues of Diplomatic Service of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting the Turkmen leader signed the Decree authorizing to move the day off from December 29 to December 31.
