President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a joint meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and the State Security Council, during which the important domestic policy issues and draft documents were considered. The Khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat were invited to attend the meeting.
Opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader congratulated the meeting participants and all people of Turkmenistan on the coming New Year.
The Vice Premiers and heads of the military and law enforcement agencies reported on the existing situation in the spheres under their supervision and fulfillment of the Turkmen leader's instructions.
It was also reported on the festive events taken place in the country, the festive programme of the TV and radio channels and the programme of the New Year's celebrations near the main New Year's tree of the country and in the Älem Entertainment Centre.
During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution appointing A. Garadjaev Vice Minister of Culture and A. Kakaev Vice Chairman of the State Committee for TV and Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography.
The President instructed the Khyakims of the regions and the Turkmen capital to take all necessary measures to hold the New Year's celebrations at the high level.
It was also reported on the measures taken to strengthen the material and technical basis and production potential of the industrial sector.
The report on the results of the elections to the Mejlis, which were held on December 15, and the 23d meeting of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fourth convocation was presented.
