President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting at the Congress Palace. Vice-chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers S. Toyliyev, deputy chairman of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan Ya. Muradov and executive officer of the Elders’ Council of Turkmenistan G. Myradov took part in it. The agenda included a series of issues connected with preparation and holding of a regular Elders’ Council. According to the special Decree, it will be held in the current year in Turkmenabat of Lebap province.
The Elders’ Council is consultative body, which includes the representatives of five provinces of the country and Ashgabat, and arranges its activity on a voluntary basis. The representatives of the state organizations, social associations, mass media and others are able to take part in the meetings of the Elders’ Council. At present, a relevant work is realized for preparation of rough draft of its program and other documents as well as it was appointed the responsible officials from the sectoral ministries, local authorities, social organizations, which will control all etraps, where the Elders’ Council will be held, and events timed to it. It was also announced the information on activity of the State Commission, which was created with a view of holding of upcoming forum in an organized manner as well as reception, collection and analysis of proposals and addresses.
The head of state ordered to organize the working trips to the provinces of the country and meetings there. It is worth studying the issues connected with the realization process of reformatory programs on socio-economic development of the regions, analyze the proposals and desires of the elders concerning further improvement of social and living conditions of the population in rural areas, - said the head of state.
In conclusion of the working meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that during centuries, the elders are the example for the Turkmen people of noble initiatives and wisdom. Doing justice to their incontestable authority, we will go on to attract the elders to the discussion and solution of vital issues of the country’s life as well as use their richest vital experience in the interests of strengthening of unity and cohesion of the Turkmen people, - said the head of state.
