President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, during which the priority tasks for the further implementation of the state programmes and the priority issues of the domestic and foreign policy were considered and the important documents were signed.
Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan A. Nurberdieva reported on the organization of work of the National Parliament of the fifth convocation. It was reported that the Mejlis Committees drafted the working plans for the further legislation work as well as the pans of conferences and other events. Particular attention is paid to the organization of work of the deputies in the regions.
The Vice Premiers reported on the existing situation in the spheres under their supervision. It was reported on the measures taken to introduce the MasterCard international payment system in the banking institutions in Turkmenistan. The report on the preparations for the forthcoming meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission for economic cooperation on January 20-21, and the Turkmen-Iranian Business Forum on January 20 was presented during the meeting. It was also reported on the preparations for a working visit of the delegation of Turkmenistan to Malaysia on January 21-25.
The report on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities, including the wintering season, and the preparations for the spring sowing campaign was presented.
As was reported, two new cotton spinning mills with the annual capacity of 6,000 tons of cotton yarn each would be put into operation in Seydi, Lebap Velayat and Kunyaurgench Etrap in Dashoguz Velayat this year. It was noted that the Week of Health and Happiness successfully held in Turkmenistan last year would be held within a month on April 1-30 each year.
The President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to prepare a series of programmes and articles about efficient use of nature gas to be broadcast on the national television and published in mass media. The Turkmen leader underlined the significance of increasing awareness among the local population about gas metres, which allow efficiently using the natural gas. The President noted that the payment for the gas consumption above the limit wouldn't create any difficulties for the population. The Turkmen leader emphasized that the Turkmen Government would continue implementing the policy of the social support to the citizens of our country.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolution on the construction and modernization of the park located between the Turkmenbashi Avenue and A. Novai Street in the Turkmen capital. In accordance withe the Resolution, VINCI Construction Grands Projets (France) will implement the project.
The President of Turkmenistan noted that a grandiose Memorial Complex in honour of the soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for the freedom and independence of the beloved Motherland, including those our compatriots whose lives had been taken away during the Geoktepe Battle was under construction in the Bikrova district in Ashgabat. Each year on May 9, the citizens of Turkmenistan will bow down before the fortitude of the hires of all wars taken place in the history of the Turkmen people and commemorate the victims of the Ashgabat earthquake on October 6 in the new Memorial Complex. The Turkmen leader also instructed the relevant officials to take all necessary measures to improve the conditions in the Kypchak Memorial Complex and the other complexes for holding commemorative events.
Other issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting.
