President of Turkmenistan receives Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia Mr. Karl Erjavec.

Expressing profound gratitude for the opportunity to discuss the important issues of interstate cooperation that had been given a powerful impetus to develop in recent years during a personal meeting, the guest noted that Slovenia watched with keen interest and admiration the rapid upsurge and grandiose achievements of the friendly Turkmen state that it bound the future plans for cooperation built on a long-term mutually beneficial basis with.

Highly evaluating the peace-loving foreign policy of Turkmenistan that had won recognition and support of the world community, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia expressed the full support for the important international initiatives put forward by the Turkmen leader in the interests of global peace and sustainable development.

Exchanging views on the current state of Turkmen-Slovenian relations and the progress in implementing the agreements, the President of Turkmenistan and his guest discussed the prospects for intensifying bilateral economic, cultural and humanitarian contacts.

During the meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia informed the Turkmen leader of the operation of the well-known Slovenian companies, including the pharmaceutical firms, the possibilities for cooperation in the sphere of telecommunications technologies and deliveries of various equipment and the preparations for the Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which Ashgabat will be hosting in 2017. Given the multifaceted potential for enhancing trade and economic relations the sides agreed to establish the intergovernmental commission which is to contribute to fulfilling the plans.

In conclusion, the diplomat expressed gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for the opportunity to discuss the issues of bilateral cooperation and the aspects of international politics of mutual interest during the personal meeting and expressed his best wishes to the brotherly people of Turkmenistan. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Slovenia in Turkmenistan Primozh Sheligo attended the meeting.
