President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a videoconference meeting with the Vice Premiers, the khyakims of the regions and Ashgabat and the high-ranking officials of the ministries and department concerned. The priority aspects of the state policy, the current situation in the agricultural sector and the arrangements for cultural events were discussed during the meeting.
In particular, the reports focused on agro-technical activities carried out on crop areas throughout the country, the preparation of agricultural equipment for the spring sowing campaign, the progress in implementing the work plans and the measures taken to supply water to agricultural lands in the regions and efficiently use water resources.
The high-ranking officials reported on the progress in implementing the national rural development programme and construction projects. The information on the works carried on in the Avaza national tourism zone, construction of the first aid centres in Ashgabat and Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayat and the draft agreements for the purchase of new ambulances for the transport enterprises of the health care institutions was presented.
The Turkmen leader was informed of the progress in construction of facilities in Ashgabat. The draft projects for construction of new ones and reconstruction of buildings in the capital were presented to the President for consideration.
The report on the action plan developed to achieve the objectives set before the Turkmengaz State Concern and the measures taken to attract foreign investments in Turkmenistan’s fuel and energy sector and increase the effectiveness of their use was presented.
The information on the measures taken by the Central Bank to increase lending volume for the economic sectors, introduce international financing reporting standards in Turkmenistan’s banking sector, apply advanced technologies, improve the regulatory framework and modernize inter-bank and international payment systems was presented.
The Minister of Health and Medical Industry reported on the current situation at the institutions under his supervision and the results of his business trip to Mary Velayat.
The layout of a new vehicle yard of the Ministry of Motor Transport and the draft projects of the cottages and yacht club for specialists of financial and economic institutions and banks of the country were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
The samples of gold and silver coins to be minted by the Central Bank of Turkmenistan to mark the 290th birthday anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fraghi were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration.
Commenting on the reports, the President instructed to develop the work plans with the view to achieve the objectives set out for this year in the national rural development programme and monitor the implementation of these work plans. The President gave specific instructions to sow cotton and other agricultural crops according to schedule and prepare agricultural equipment and machines for the important agricultural campaign. The Turkmen leader instructed to monitor the use of plant protection chemicals in agricultural fields and construction of facilities in the regions. Addressing the Minister of Water Industry, the Turkmen leader emphasized the need develop a special work plan to monitor irrigation of crop areas and water consumption, instructing to carry out these activities in accordance with agro-technical requirements.
The President instructed to develop a special work plan, which would specify in general the responsibilities and duties of all the departments and etraps, so that the velayats would be able to fulfil the tasks set before them in 2014.
Providing the comments and recommendations on the projects of the cottages and yacht club to be built in the Avaza national tourism zone, the Turkmen leader approved them in whole.
