President of Turkmenistan makes a working trip around the Turkmen capital

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip around the Turkmen capital to see the progress in implementing the urban development programme as well as a number of new projects.

Early in the morning, the Turkmen leader headed to the Hospital with Scientific and Clinical Centre designed for 350 patients under construction at the intersection of the Georogly Street and A. Niyazov Avenue.

The President paid particular attention to the development of the territory adjacent to the clinic and made a number of recommendations in this regard.

Then the Turkmen leader considered the draft designs of the further development of the Turkmen capital presented on the seventh floor of the main building of the hospital. Executive Secretary of the President’s Office, Vice Premier Sh. Durdylyev presented the draft designs of the future facilities, including the project of the reconstruction of A. Niyazov Avenue. Considering the projects, the President of Turkmenistan made a number comments and recommendations.


Vice Premiers S. Toylyev, P. Taganov, M. Artykov and Minister of Healthcare and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan N. Amannepesov reported on the progress of construction works in the spheres under their supervision.

Commenting on the reports, the President of Turkmenistan underlined the significance of taking the quality of new facilities and time frameworks of construction works under the rigorous control and made a number of specific comments and recommendations.

Looking over the panorama of the large-scale housing construction site from the windows on the seventh floor, the President noted that the facilities under construction, including reconstructed roads should meet the modern urban development requirements.

In the foyer of the hospital, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov considered the draft designs of the healthcare facilities' exterior and improvement of the territory adjacent to the new buildings, including the system of illumination.

Commenting on the projects, the Turkmen leader provided a number of specific comments and important recommendations.

The President also underlined that the buildings located near the hospital, in particular the Dental Educational and Production Centre of the State Medical University should be reconstructed.

Then the Turkmen leader headed to the Bikrova highway to see the progress of construction of the large Memorial complex.

On the way to the Memorial complex, the President also considered the progress of construction of the new Emergency Aid Centre designed for 200 patients. Commenting on the exterior design of the new Centre, the Turkmen leader made a number of specific instructions in this regard and demanded the relevant officials to take the quality and time frameworks of construction works under the rigorous control.

The territory of the future Memorial complex will include the monuments to our compatriots whose lives had been taken away during the Battle of Geoktepe, Turkmen soldiers who fell on the fields of battle in the 1941-1945 war as well as to the victims of the 1948 Ashgabat earthquake. A Memorial Museum and park with fountains and small architectural figures will be also built on the territory of the complex.

The head of the Polimeks Company engaged in the construction of the Memorial Complex informed the Turkmen leader on the progress of the works at this important object.

The Turkmen leader considered the progress of construction works as well as the facility for arranging ritual events designed for 3,000 places and made a number of specific recommendations.

The President instructed the relevant officials to thoroughly think over the aesthetic design of the complex in the national style and pay significant attention to creation all necessary conditions for organization of events on occasion of the memorable dates.

The President of Turkmenistan also considered the projects on the improvement of the park area and made a number of comments and recommendations in this regard.

Summing up the working trip around the Turkmen capital, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded the relevant officials to take the further implementation of the urban development programme under the rigorous control.
